Knowles Lodge is licensed to hold Civil Wedding ceremonies and we offer exclusive use of the house and grounds for weddings. You can be married on the covered terrace with it's spectacular views overlooking the River Wharfe, as well as in the dining and drawing room.
For small intimate weddings of up to 12 guests we use the drawing room and dining room for receptions and either buffets or sit down meals. For up to 30 guests we have a brand new marquee with windows that can be opened and closed depending upon the weather. In case of bad weather the guests can still watch the ceremony take place on the terrace in the comfort of the marquee.
For larger wedding we use either traditional marquees or the unusual but more informal Indian type tepees. These are erected on the back lawn. With these we can offer weddings with up to 100 guests.
We charge a site fee and request that the bedrooms are used the night of and the night before the wedding. We discuss with you what you would like and, since no two weddings are the same, we don't have price lists. We can give you guidance about organising dates with the registrar, food and drink, flowers, wedding cakes, ladies to 'dodo' hair and make-up etc. bands, discos, even a chocolate fountain or a 19th century carousel!
Our role is to help you decide what you want and then ensure you have a marvellous wedding.
